Young Golf Superintendent Manages Prestigious CourseThis South Carolina upstate golf club understands the value of true versatility and has been running Ventrac on its golf course for 20 years. The 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed course is best known for its 15 years as host of the Korn Ferry Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am. As a full amenities golf club with a swimming pool, tennis court, and more, the ability to handle more jobs than just mowing is critical in choosing the right grounds equipment. Dane Olsen started his golf grounds experience in high school, which led to his college career and eventually the golf course superintendent position at Thornblade in Greer, SC. This young superintendent has worked at eight golf courses across the country, from New York to Indiana, and all have run a Ventrac in some capacity. His experience and knowledge with Ventrac made him a valuable addition to this golf course. Dane says he enjoys the variety of grasses the golf course offers and how each requires different maintenance needs, mowing patterns, and heights. His job is kept interesting with the diverse needs of the course every day. A benefit to running a Ventrac on a golf course is that specialty jobs, like stump grinding, do not need an additional separate power unit, only switching the attachment. An easy switch to change attachments for the job required is true versatility that works for them. Without a Ventrac on this golf course, maintaining the majority of the areas would be with a line trimmer which means more labor and staffing. In addition, a traditional rough mower will cause significant turf damage on the greens, but with the Ventrac’s light footprint, they can climb slopes and get into tighter areas that a larger unit cannot reach. Cutting labor and time in half while leaving a pristine finish allows Thornblade to achieve top-level greens while extending more budget to spend on other essential golf club amenities and member services.Products featured in this video:VENTRAC 4520: https://www.ventrac.com/products/tractors/4520 ED202 EDGER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/ed202 MJ840 CONTOUR MOWER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/mj840 MR740 REEL MOWER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/mr740 KC220 STUMP GRINDER: https://www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/kc220 For more information, visit https://www.ventrac.com/ Find a dealer near you! https://www.ventrac.com/dealers Get a FREE catalog! https://www.ventrac.com/contact/catalog Subscribe here! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0aiC7V2JS3nh11R5tRuIUw Connect with Us!Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ventrac/ Instagram - @ventrac_tractorsTwitter - @ventrac00:00 Golf Course Introduction00:24 Dane Introduction/Journey01:23 Differences In The Grasses/Grounds02:20 Mowing Hills with Ventrac02:49 Has Always Used Ventrac 03:05 One Machine & Multiple Attachments 03:41 The Love of Working OutdoorsSong code: 6FPPSJTWVPN2XQZX
